Framework Laptop 13 Pro Launch Delayed to July Amid Technical Issues

The anticipated launch of the Framework Laptop 13 Pro, which has gained attention as a ‘MacBook Pro for Linux users,’ has encountered delays. Initially scheduled for a June release, the first batch of shipments is now expected to begin in July, with further shipments potentially extending into early August. Customers who pre-ordered the laptop have been informed of the delay via email, detailing the reasons behind the postponement.

According to The Verge, the delay is primarily due to complications with the laptop's new haptic trackpad and custom display. The company discovered an electrical grounding issue in the trackpad's circuit board design, which necessitated a redesign. Additionally, bugs were found in the display during production, prompting further adjustments. Framework aims to ensure that all units delivered meet their quality standards, and customers affected by the delay can opt for a full refund of their deposit.
