TSMC AI chips semiconductor manufacturing supply chain technology demand
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the largest semiconductor manufacturer globally, is grappling with an overwhelming demand for AI chips. Despite its ongoing factory expansions in the United States, the company is struggling to keep pace with the needs of American customers. TSMC's CEO, C.C. Wei, expressed concerns that fulfilling these demands could take a "very long time," highlighting the company's limits in supporting the explosive growth of AI technology.
According to reports from BBC, TSMC is facing difficulties in meeting the surging demand for semiconductors driven by the AI boom. Wei noted that customer demand is extremely high, and TSMC is doing its utmost to avoid becoming a bottleneck in the supply chain. The company has already initiated operations at its Arizona factory and plans to invest significantly in additional production facilities in the U.S., but challenges remain in ensuring timely delivery to its clients.
